Patients on the MP are expected to closely adhere to a number of requirements. Certain elements of the MP are essential for treatment success: regular doses of olmesartan (Benicar)Medication taken regularly by patients on the Marshall Protocol for its ability to activate the Vitamin D Receptor., avoidance of vitamin D, etc. Patients taking medications, other substances, and other therapies that may interfere with immune function are expected to wean or discontinue these therapies. For many patients, a return to health depends on their ability to actively advocate for their recovery with the MP.
It's natural to assume that the doctor who is prescribing one's Marshall Protocol medications understands the Protocol thoroughly. This may not be the case.
Under no circumstances should you assume your physician will understand the MP, no matter how many patients he/she may be caring for. The amount of time needed to understand the intricacies of the Th1 diseaseAny of the chronic inflammatory diseases caused by bacterial pathogens. process is beyond the capabilities of most physicians to provide. It is essential that you work closely with the moderators at this study site, 'in partnership' with your physician, to navigate through the multiple paradigm shifts that are needed to induce recovery from chronic disease.
Trevor Marshall, PhD
It is not uncommon for a physician to agree to support a patient on the MP without fully understanding all the ramifications. At present, no physician has been trained and certified to administer the MP. Patients must ensure that their physicians prescribe the MP correctly and understands the effectiveness of the MP, and the dangers inherent in deviation from the guidelines.
Note that just because a medication or supplement is available over-the-counter (without a prescription) does not mean that it will not interfere with immune function in the same way that prescription drugs do.
